Big girls need love, too, but at what cost?

Lilly is loaded, not only with money, but with weight. Both things she could do without. But even with her undesired millionaire status, she doesn’t hold on to false hopes of finding true love. So when a sexy stranger comes into her life dripping with seduction, she finds it hard to resist. The bigger they are the harder they fall and Lilly falls straight through the floor in love with Mr. Sexy. Too bad he’s there for all the wrong reasons.

The chance of losing it all will make you do some crazy things and Devin’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep his life together. All seems lost when out of nowhere he’s approached by a Millionaire Momma with an offer he can’t refuse. But even a womanizer like Devin has a heart and when the short, chunky girl with the carefree attitude breaks through his icy façade, he finds that losing everything takes on a whole new meaning.

5 Priceless Stars!
description

Omg!...Omg!... i Frickin Loved This Book! It had Romance, Love, Family, Friendship, Drama, Sex, Humor, Heart Break & Celebration all wrapped up in one Delectable Package!

I read it feverishly in one day because I just couldn't imagine putting it down!

 I Laughed out Loud...
 description

I Cried from Sadness & also from Joy...
 description

I giggled & squealed  & just acted like a total teenage girl!...description

& I simply feel in love with all the characters...

Especially Lilly! She was fantastic! Beautiful, Sweet,  Kind, Honest & caring, a little bit chubby but still Confident & at the same time a little shy with a wicked sense humor & a down right awesome Personality!.. I don't think I've ever found a character so down to earth & relatable (expect may Shannon Lilly's best friend). She was the perfect Female lead & I just adored her!

Technically, I could have anything I want. I could buy anything, but the one thing I can’t buy is the one thing I crave. It’s not like you could run thru the closest drive thru and grab a relationship. One hot boy toy to go, please!"

Devin  was equally fantastic, he was your typical bad boy with devilish good looks & the ability to make a girl weak at the knees with a single glance, but under his cold façade was a man with a heart of cold that would do anything for the people he loves!

"you are priceless"
 description

The Romance was spine tingling sweet & The Sex Scenes was So damn Hot, i will admit tho There  were times when it was pretty clique & the story was a bit lame..Lilly's mum meets devin in a bank..then stalks him...ugh ok then...that's a great way to find a guy to date your daughter!...sarcasm much.

But the overall the Awesomeness of this book defiantly out weighted the bad! it such a wonderfully positive book that when I finished it I immediately wanted to read it again.

I recommend this to all females who have struggled with their weight, been bullied or just never felt good enough!..it's a light but heart warming read & I can not wait to for more in the series!

Summary from Goodreads:
The undead can really screw up your senior year . . .
Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancé. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius’s soul from eternal destruction
.

My Review:
I think I’ve picked this book up a million times, and each time I ended up placing it back on the shelf.  When I buy books, I’m all about the title and rarely (if ever) actually read the back cover story.  The title, Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, just didn’t do it for me at all.  It wasn’t until I was at Chapters last weekend that I noticed the book again, but this time it was on a clearance rack and I figure, what the heck. I’m so glad I did.  The title may not be fantastic, but the book definitely was.

I love it when books bring me back to high school, and this one did exactly that.  Within the first few chapters, I was there, falling in love for the first time all over again.

Jessica Packwood is a math whiz.  She’s fairly average, just starting out on her last year of high school and closing in on her eighth birthday.  When the tall, dark, and mysterious Lucius shows up at her doorstep, her run of the mill existence crumples, and becomes anything but average.  With a blood pact and war looming over her shoulders, Jessica needs to come to terms with her new reality before her new life is lost forever.  Will she be able to save Lucius and mend things between them on time?  You’ll have to read Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side to find out.

The characters were wonderful.  Each one was perfectly developed and they all played their roles well.  My favorite was definitely Lucius.  I loved his sense of humor.  The letters to his uncle had me smirking, and at times even laughing out loud.  They were cheesy at times, but the cheese completely worked for him.   These letters were really the one place where he wasn’t wearing a “mask” and I really got to see his full personality.

I am a huge vampire fan, but for those of you who are thinking that Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is just another vampire story, I can assure you that Fantaskeytook care to build fresh scenes and an original story.  Even with some of the twists and turns being predictable, the overall plot was gripping and the writing flowed smoothly through the book.

If you are looking for a fun read with a paranormal twist then this is the book for you.

My Reviews:
My mind was seriously like a tornado of questions for days & days after reading autumn storm..
 description
"Did autumn/summer past the test?".." If she did will decker still want to be with her?".."Will they still love each other? Or will deckers darkness destroy there second chance?".." Will she be autumn or Summer?".. " What about beck? & the Baby!?"...

"Did autumn/summer past the test?".." If she did will decker still want to be with her?".."Will they still love each other? Or will deckers darkness destroy there second chance?".." Will she be autumn or Summer?".. " What about beck? & the Baby!?"
All i could do was think & Worry, think & worry, think & worry And then I saw Autumn Dawn was released!...oh Happy Days!
description

After dancing around the house for a while i some how managed to contain myself & quickly grab a copy in-which I  gobbled it up!...Ok so i actually had to read it 3 times to be truly content, it gave such a clear understanding of how the test worked & how summer was concealed I had to face palm myself because of all my worrying!
description

The tension between summer & decker when they finally saw was so thick you could of cut it with a knife, and the pure raw emotion made me cry. (why do I always cry!)

I'm totally thrilled beck found his (hopeful) other half (even if decker won't be over the moon about it, given Becky's track record....Crazy Dawn anyone!)  seriously I cannot wait to see  how things work out between them too in Winter Kiss, which will be coming soon.
*fingers crossed*

Beck’s gentle touch soothes her distress while Decker’s every look sets her A girl with no memory, hidden in plain sight. A boy with no hope, freefalling into Darkness.

Unable to recover from Summer’s death, Decker slowly surrenders to the Dark. He can’t live with the pain, and those around him keep Autumn’s secret too well. With neither of them willing to let Autumn go, they turn on each other.

Only one of them knows the truth. Only one of them will walk away, unless Autumn can find a way to save them both.

My Review:
*Spoiler-ish Warning*

After devouring Dark Summer then the Summer Night novelette, & being shocked into a teary mess with the cliff hanger that Summer had died & was some how reincarnated into autumn!!
i was, desperate...desperate for some answers!
Which thankfully lizzy gave me but turn me into a emotional mess yet again!...lol
description

Autumn Storm sheds the whimsical teenage naivety of dark summer & thrusts both the reader and the chracters into a harsh and painful reality.

With Summer's death weighting heavily on his shoulders, Decker goes well to put it simply, he goes utterly insane & is trying to block out the pain with anything possible. Sex, Drugs, Women nothing seems enough to numb out the pain of losing his one true love.
I couldn't help but feel Sorry for decker, after reading the beautiful love affair between him & summer I was heart broken to see his internal struggle with the darkness but I was also insanely mad when he began sleeping around with hundreds, yes I said hundreds of women only a couple of months after her death. All I wanted to do was punch him in his stupid sexy face..description
Tho The Internal struggle he had towards his feelings about autumn & not wanting to betray summer's memory got him off the hook.
"With a sob, he realized Summer's memory was best honored, by  doing what was right, no matter how hard it was or how much it Hurt. " Decker.
Awwww Poor Baby..
description

Autumn was cool & strong I mean really strong.
After going through all the pain of her "accident" you
would think she would just crawl into her little shell but she didn't. she took the master of darkness (even dawn! Yes Phyco Dawn!) Head On
I also loved how she didn't play into decker's little game of seduction...
"The master of Darkness, Apparently the Master of Seduction was a better Title for him." - Autumn
She stayed true to herself and her own feelings. Which I really admired...Yes I was in total like with her but I just couldn't love her like I did summer.

Beck finally came into his true self as the Master of Light, protecting his family & the light Witchlings at any cost. He was was soo sweet, especially  when  he was trying to protector autumn from Decker & decker from Himself. Nawwwww brotherly love.

Would I Reccomend it? Yep Yep!
Would I Re-Read it? Maybe.
Would I Read More in the Series? Umm.. Hell yes! Unless I wanted to make myself go total Bananas from not knowing!
description
LOL

I was listening to this song today & all I could think was "this is totes decker & autumn's song!" read the book, hear the song then tell me I'm.. & why your at it try & tell sixty ain't sexy as hell!
That's right you Can't cause his just too Damn Hot!! =p

Ashley Stoynaoff's Review: Daughter of Smoke and Bones by Laini Taylor

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
Title: Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #1)

Number of Pages: 432
Publication Information: Little, Brown and Company (Sept 2011)
Genre: YA, Fantasy
Shelf: Books I Bought
Rating: ★★★★★

Summary from Goodreads:

Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil's supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she's prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages--not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she's about to find out.

When one of the strangers--beautiful, haunted Akiva--fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

My Review:

Once upon a time,
an angel and a devil fell in love.

It did not end well.”

Wow! That was the first word out of my mouth when I finished this book. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was absolutely delightful and utterly devastating.

I loved Karou’s character. She was fierce and mysterious and had me invested from the first page. The story starts out with Karou as an art student in Prague, and from there, the fascinating world that Taylor has created grows piece by piece. The strange errands, the teeth, the wishes, the chimeras; each piece had me flipping the pages, dying to know how they all fit together.

And then we meet the Angel, Akiva, and the story shifts to a fairytale kind of romance. The pacing changes—it slows—but, then I was sucked into the skin tingling, stomach fluttering, attraction between Akiva and Karou, and from then on, I hardly noticed the change in pace.

Each character was wonderfully unique and developed. Taylor takes care to introduce the story, the world, and each character, giving us, as the reader, the time to get to know it all without drowning us in dumps of back-story.

I have to mention, that during the last 60 pages or so, I was frustrated with all the flashbacks, but then the last chapter happened, and when I turned the last page I was left speechless.

Overall, the writing was fresh, the story was complex, and it was definitely an addictive read.

Beck, the new Master of Light, is forced to step up in his role as the protector of Light. He discovers that sometimes, the protector must come between the Dark and its own Master in order to save them both from being consumed. To save his brother, he must risk everything – even his soul – on the slim chance Summer can redeem herself, if given a second chance. If he’s right, he’ll save Decker from a lifetime of agony.

If he’s wrong, he’ll lose much more than Decker and Summer, for there will be no one standing between Darkness and the rest of the world.

My Review:
** spoiler alert **

I'm not sure why Lizzy decided to release this little novella between books,  but I'm so happy she did!
Summer night is the bridge between Dark Summer & Autumn Storm, It gives readers a glimpse into what happen that tragic night on the cliff & how summer became autumn.
It's told through Beck & Rania's perspective & gives you a much clearer understanding of both characters & their actions. (I though beck a bit of a Douche before but now I love him!)

"Beck began to realize that sometimes, the protector might have to come between the dark & it's master. No one deserved to handle the horrible duty serving dark alone. Compassion replaced his horror. He didn't know exactly what he had to do, but he knew he needed to do something. He wasn't going to let anyone else suffer."

If you've read Dark Summer & are planning On reading autumn storm (which how could you not with a cliff hanger like that!)  it's defiantly a must read packed full of info!

GoodReads Summary:

A girl with a broken past and a dark secret. A boy with a twisted future and no second chances. When they meet, it just might cost them their souls.

Sixteen-year-old Summer doesn’t expect the new boarding school to be any different than the rest: a temporary stay where everyone will turn against her after a few weeks. Until she meets the rest of the students at this special school and realizes she’s not the only one with magic in her blood. Accustomed to the concrete jungle of LA, she gets lost one night in the forests of the Rocky Mountains and meets Decker, the boy who will become the Master of Night and Fire on his eighteenth birthday. Their connection is instant and dangerous, for both will be forced to choose between Light and Dark, life and death, love – and their souls.

One choice. One soul. One price.
My Review:
One weary night I decided to finally pick up dark summer & boy am I thankful I did, Lizzy simply bewitched me with her fantastical writing & a tale of such bittersweet love & friendship it made my heart swell, I read long in to the night & right into the next morning , until the sun rays shone thrown my window & then instantly pick the next book!

I  was totally captivated from the first few pages, lizzy has a wonderful way of giving you enough to keep you in the know but not enough so you just have to keep on guessing & of course reading on to find out more.

I threw away all known concepts of witches & fell whole heartily it too it's world of light & dark magic, Witchlings, elements & curses.
  description
It was so wonderfully different &  i couldn't of been more thrilled! description

Dark summer doesn't  just touch on young adult/teen emotions it explodes with it (in a good way of course) and its hard not to be drawn in. There were so many moments where I found myself sighing before giggling like mad because I can remember having the same girly conversation with my girl friends.... & I was even blushing at some spots, which is odd because I read so much darn smut! Lol

But seriously the love story lizzy weaved wasn't  your everyday sweet teenage  love, it was raw, powerful, tender & so intoxicating to read. I was openly weeping  at the ending, not just a couple of tears I mean like Totaly balling my eyes out, weeping! It was kinda embarrassing actually..
description
"Decker kissed her and pulled her harder against him. Even her lips gave of burst of magick that lit his blood on fire. He didn't deserve her, but he'd do what she said and let himself feel the joy bubbling. They'd take it one day at a time. Suddenly, two weeks seemed longer, if he could spend every day with the beautiful in his arms"

So what are you waiting for! Go buy it..like now!
Unless of course your scared of being spellbound by this book & being totally & utterly addicted to the trilogy!... which I promise you wil be! Lol

This is one of my Favorite Songs, its sooo Beautiful & everytime i hear it i cry.
I though it be Perfect as Decker & Summer Song not only beacuse it makes me cry but because it a beautiful beautiful Song about a Beautiful Summer Romance..nawww

Review: Hera Queen of Gods by T.D. Thomas

Hera Queen of Gods (Goddess Unbound 1#)
by T.D. Thomas

Rating:♥♥♥1/2
Pages:115
Goodreads:Here
Purchase:Here (only 99 cents)

GR Summary:
Hera couldn't care less what the other gods think, even when it's about her. And it often is. Frankly, Hera couldn't care less about anything, except doing her duty as queen - protecting order and defending the mortal world against any threats. But when the Fates go missing, Hera and a handful of other gods must temporarily become mortal to search the human world for the missing goddesses.

Hera finds that mortality begins to change her. It's not just the loss of her divine powers. She expected that. It's deeper somehow. It's affecting how she thinks, how she feels, what's important to her. And it gets much worse after she meets Justin, who defies every prejudice she once had
about mortals. At the worst possible time, and despite all her efforts, Hera's black-and-white world starts to unravel.

My Blabber-ific Review:
Two Words basically sum up Hera Queen of Gods...Frickin Awsom  Yep that's it that's my whole review...it's awesome, you have to read It, end of story...

Ok ok an awesome  book deserves an awesome  blabbering filled review so here it goes... My History teacher must have  forgot to teach me about the epic-ness of Greek mythology or I just fell asleep in class (which is more likely) because my knowledge of the Greeks is basically limited to  Hercules, yep Hercules..the Disney film which probably has zero facts that are actually real (ok as real as you can with myths). Sad but true....

description

So to help all the other bad asses out there, who use to sleep in class I've made you a little outline of the different  gods (who are basically the main characters)......

Hera:
description
The queen of the gods and goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, heirs, kings and empires. She is the wife of Zeus and daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was usually depicted as a beautiful woman wearing a crown and veil and holding a royal, lotus-tipped staff.

Zeus:
  description
The king of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus and the god of the sky, weather, thunder, lightning, law, order, and fate. He is the youngest son of Cronus and Rhea, whom he overthrew after Cronus swallowed his brothers and sisters and he is brother-husband to Hera. In artwork, he was depicted as a regal, mature man with a sturdy figure and dark beard.

Demeter:
  description
The goddess of agriculture, horticulture, grain and harvest. Demeter is a daughter of Cronus and Rhea and sister of Zeus, by whom she bore Persephone. She was depicted as a mature woman, often crowned and holding sheafs of wheat and a torch.

Athena:
  description
The goddess of wisdom, warfare, battle strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. According to most traditions, she was born from Zeus's head fully formed and armored. She was depicted crowned with a crested helm, armed with shield and a spear.

Apollo:
  description
The god of music, healing, plague, the sun, prophecies, and poetry; associated with light, truth and the sun. He is Artemis' twin brother and Hermes' elder (half) brother, and son of Zeus and Leto. He was depicted as a handsome, beardless youth with long hair and various attributes including a laurel wreath, bow and quiver, raven, and lyre.

Artemis:
  description
Virgin goddess of the hunt, wilderness, animals, young girls, childbirth and plague. In later times she became associated with the moon. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and twin sister of Apollo. In art she was usually depicted as a young woman dressed in a short knee-length chiton and equipped with a hunting bow and a quiver of arrows. In addition to the bow, her attributes include hunting spears, animal pelts, deer and other wild animals.

Hermes:
  description
The god of travel, messengers, trade, thievery, cunning wiles, language, writing, diplomacy, athletics, traps, and animal husbandry. He is the messenger of the gods, a psychopomp who leads the souls of the dead into Hades' realm, and the son of Zeus and Maia. He was depicted either as a handsome and athletic beardless youth, or as an older bearded man. His attributes include the herald's wand or caduceus, winged sandals, and a traveler's cap.

So now your a bit more clued up, or maybe not at all because you skipped over it, which i wouldn't blame you for doing....learning about Greek mythology can be a bit boring...expect when your reading HQOG which is never boring.
any how..
I better get on with the review. HQOG is a true Young Adult Novel, the writing style, character development, plots etc all have a young feel to it which adults & teens could easily enjoy...don't get me wrong it's totally not a light hearted, everyone's happy kinda story there's actually a lot of fighting & death but all within the YA limits.  Romance blossoms (of course it does, I can't read book with out romance in it) & friendships are made and broken.  all classic ya plots, but it works.. So very very well, i was on the edge of seat waiting to find out what happened next even tho, sometimes I had a pretty god Idea.

T.D. Had me laughing out loud (yes actually out loud!), giggling, fuming like mad and even close  to tears. ..
It was one of those novels you just don't  want to end because your enjoying the ride way too much.

I was very close to falling  in love with this novel but just couldn't quite take the plunge, maybe it was the repetitiveness at times or the immaturity shown through the characters or just the lack of detailed writing.... What ever It was it hasn't stop me from seriously  enjoying  the hell out of reading it & it hasn't Stop me from giving it 5 stars on goodreads and it sure as hell is not going to stop me from getting my hands on the next book!

would I recommend it? Defiantly! But mostly to lovers of YA.
would I re-read it? maybe.....
would I read more in the series? try & stop me! ;)

The Soul's Mark:HUNTED is the Second in Installment in the unique Soul's Mark Series.  I was so excited about its release & thankfully I didn't have to wait long, when I sunk my fangs into pages I was utterly blown away! Ashley really came into her Full writing ability & it was such a joy to read.  I loved watching (ok reading) each character grow & evolve, and to see as their relationships developed... I also loved how their flaws & insecurities aren't hidden or totally eradicated.. No body's perfect & that really comes through in Ashley's writing which helps to weave a more readable, relatable & heart felt story. My emotions were totally all over the place, one chapter I would be near tears the next I would be smiling like a  Cheshire Cat......

(epically during a naughty little part... Yay!) But seriously The Soul's Mark:HUNTED is a Awesome Novel & I am stoked I got the chance to read & review it! =)
